The ever-astute Matt Drance on why the cool ad for Samsung’s new Galaxy Gear watch doesn’t copy Apple’s original “Hello” iPhone commercial quite as much as it may seem:

The problem with this ad is not that it’s ripping anyone off. The problem with this ad is that it exhibits everything wrong with Samsung as a company.
